We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to accept Jesus as their Saviour and secure their place in Heaven.
No one can earn their way to Heaven by being good or doing good deeds; it's simply not possible through our own efforts, nor does it happen automatically, as some think, when we draw our last breath. However, by trusting in Jesus, we find a way to salvation. Through Jesus, we gain access to a relationship with God, our Heavenly Father, and secure our place in Heaven.
This is confirmed in one of the most comforting and frequently used readings at both traditional and modern funeral services. It offers a message of eternal life and hope, reminding mourners that physical death is not the end for those who have faith in Jesus. “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.” - John 11:25-26. This means that those who accept Jesus as their Saviour will be with their Heavenly Father for eternity, where "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." - Revelation 21:4.
Think about your life for a moment and what might be holding you back from accepting Jesus as your Saviour? Or it could simply be that no one has introduced you to what it means to have Jesus in your life. You will find peace with God and yourself, and you will have hope in an eternal life without death, mourning, crying or pain.
One of the first things that happens when we accept Jesus as our Saviour is realising we need to turn from the direction of life we have been following. This is known as repentance, and a crucial part of accepting Jesus as our Saviour is understanding that restoration follows repentance. As we genuinely repent, we are restored and begin a personal, loving relationship with God, our Heavenly Father.
Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection made a way for us to have a relationship with God. Jesus gave His life once and for all for our mistakes - past, present, and future. In fact, when we accept Jesus as our Saviour, nothing can separate us from God.
